Support your local PROFESSIONAL!

Yes, we know… DJs and musicians are a dime a dozen these days, if not cheaper.  NYC is overrun with DJs and musicians willing to jump in and get on stage for nothing just to validate their own aspirations.  Enough is enough!  The crowd can tell the difference! And you’re doing your craft a disservice by lowering the bar so anyone can use your business as playtime.

Hire a professional for your venue, party, restaurant, weekly, etc., and reserve your right to expect a PROFESSIONAL service!

With over 15 years in the business, I have learned how to make a crowd interested in returning, getting people to dance and enjoy, and also playing the appropriate music for the setting.  Whether it’s a brunch lounge vibe, a sing-along bar vibe, or a sweaty dance party, hire someone who cares about the difference AND the return clientele, because this is a BUSINESS, not a hobby showcase.

I own all my own equipment, capable of booming sound or light background. I transport by car, and do not need to sacrifice equipment for ease of transport. Understanding my own equipment allows me to cater very specifically to the venue’s requirements for a successful event- big, small, loud, soft, relaxed, or turnt!

And most importantly, I have managed and operated my own businesses in NY for nearly 20 years.  The bottom line- if it don’t make dollars, it don’t make sense!  Let an artist with business knowledge treat your business as the customer, guaranteeing my full effort to bring more business to your establishment, with the intent to continue to drive revenue.

Norte Maar presents its most ambitious collaborative event to date!  The Brooklyn Performance Combine is a spontaneous mashup of poets, painters, and performers at the Brooklyn Museum on November 1 from 7-9pm. This event coincides with the museum’s Target Free Saturdays and responds to the museum’s current exhibition Crossing Brooklyn: Bushwick, Bed-Stuy and Beyond. The event is free.

Not so unlike the historic Theater Event #1 that took place at Black Mountain College during the summer of 1952, andNorte Maar’s own End of the World performance at English Kills, The Brooklyn Performance Combine Event unites all art forms in a fusion of poetry, sound, dance, and performance in a single cohesive 120-minute event. It will be epic.

A timer will start the countdown for the performance. Each artist will be programmed to begin and end at a time designated through chance operations within the 120-minute interval. At times a poet will be reading while a sound artist is performing. A dancer will enter, perform and depart. Sounds will overlap. There will be silence. Every aspect of the performance will be unrehearsed, live, spontaneous, and uninterrupted. Audiences can come and go as the event clock ticks out of time.
